We are renovating a single bay Shell station in central WI to be used as a used car store. The station was built in 1930 and run by the same owner until 1971. We need some color refference of the outside and inside, both office and work bay area along with signage used from the 40's, 50's and 60's era. Any help or direction would be appreciated. thanks

Jim,
Here are acouple of other thigs you can try.

Some automotive paint numbers for Shell colors used in the forties.
PPG# 81652 Fleet Yellow
PPG# 71660 Fleet Red
Sikkens# 418A1 Tan
The PPG numbers are out of an old PPG book and are listed as Shell fleet colors. The Sikkens number is a match to an old Shell oil can.
You may want to check with a national paint supplier like Sherwin-Williams to see if they have any listings for non automotive paints.
If you are told no, try again. I have gone into the same store were i got information before and had someone tell me that they didn't have the info. Generally these old-old books are locked up and half of the people don't know they exist. Good luck.
Ed

Jim,
I forgot you can't get "thigs" anymore. The first line should have been "Here are a couple of THINGS you can try".
