THATS A GREAT STORY?? WHEN I STOP BY TO ASK ABOUT PUMPS,, AND THEY SAY NOT FOR SALE, THEN GO ON TO TELL STORIES OF ITS PAST,, WHEN GRANDPA FUELED UP HIS OL' MERCURY,, AND HOW THE VELTEX GLOBE GOT SHOT OUT 25 YEARS AGO ON CHRISTMAS MORNING, BY LITTLE TOMMY AND HIS NEW RED RIDER BB GUN.. L.O.L. THATS WHERE THAT PUMP SHOULD STAY,, THE MEMORIES ARE WHATS IMPORTANT..

I picked up this pump bought it and unbolted it off the island at an old Skelly station in Kansas. I was traveling to Iowa gas one year when I spotted it. On the same trip a car collector in Kansas city found out I had it at Iowa and offered to buy it if I could deliever it on my way home. I ended up selling it to him and he now has it in his garage with his Chevelle. I think their is a future for the late model pumps. This one happened to be a Tok. blendamatic instead of the more common Wayne Blendamatic which I prefer. L=http:/[UR/img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iowagastrip05051bk5.jpg] [/URL]

Here's mine ...

These pumps were from a service station in my home town that I used to frequent in my youth. They were last used in 1983 and were in storage .

They look good next to my muscle cars !

Pizza's story reminded me of a time I was in Alabama. I stopped in a station because they had globes on top of newer pumps.
I asked the woman if she wanted to sell them.
Her reply was
" NO, and don't you come back tonight thinking you are going to steal one , because I live right across the street and I have a shotgun, and I know how to use it!"

Then she went on to say that after the last guy who asked, the next morning one was missing.
