If some of you would be willing to take some detailed photos of you gallon markers, I would be willing to put them together for input into the gallery so that everyone could benefit.

Ideally it would be nice to have a full length photo front and back and a close up of a single marker both front and back.

This may be overkill but feel free to provide information such as:

Overall length:
Is the supporting rod square, flat, round or other
Mounting method: Screw, spring clip or other
Marker Material: Brass, Aluminum or SS
Rod Material: Brass, Aluminum, steel or other
Are number Embossed or Painted
if embossed - Raised embossed or depressed embossing
If Embossed is it also painted
# required for a pump
How is it attached to upper and lower plate:
Where is it located - Inside/outside

Thanks, Tim.
That would be a great resource for collectors and restorers.
Those that got 'em, lets post 'em.

Great picture Dick and thanks for the extra information added at the bottom. This should be a great help to someone restoring a Groetken,

I'm NOT so sure! After looking in other thread you ID them as FLECKENSTEIN!

Calling on Doc Fortin for Positive ID!

Thanks DB. Hopefully you will inspire some other oldgassers to get their camera and tape measure out to document their sets.

This is a picture of what I believe to be a Fleckenstein 100A that I took at Iowa Gas in 2008. The picture of the markers came from this pump. However that doesn't mean they were correct. Any ideas?

At a distance a Wayne marker and a Butler marker may seem the same, but when seen up close there are quite a few differences.

After further consideration Dick has decided these are for a Fleckenstein 10 gallon Visible. My earlier pictures were for as Fleckenstein 5 gallon visible.

I've had that stick Many years & never really looked at how the number plates were attached. Look at 3 pic's on right side, they could actually screw into each other. Center pic, right side I pulled the rod up a little to show it wasn't all 1 pc. Each rod section is approx. 2 1/2" & threaded each end.

Over the years many service companies have changed out the indicators for one reason or another & installed what ever they had on hand that would work. Tim & I are working w/ the best knowledge & Information we have to get each correctly ID. There is bound to be some mistakes.

In this thread below there are several UN-Known indicators that WE need an ID for;

I just picked up a Groetken (5 gallon) and will get pics of the indicators if that will help.

According to Greg Fortin: "They (Fleckensteins) were made originally out of both brass(rare) and pot metal. They where used on both 5 and 10 gallon pumps. There is also a stamped steel diamond shaped marker used on some 5 gallon pump
