Looks awfully crude if you compare it to other Oilzum porcelain signs.

My first impression of the sign is fake.....definitely a sign you would want to buy in person.

see me at Mason Dixon Gas, Spring Carlisle M114-115, and Hershey C4E-35.

I felt the lettering wasn't crisp and just did not look correct.

That sign is original and very hard to find, You will see the the ones that say " The CREAM of 100% pure Pennsylvania Oil, Double tested and Guaranteed" in the exact same size and are also DSP pretty often. Both these signs hung below the curb signs.

Heres a discussion on oldgas where Joey shows a picture of his original. I have since held an original in my hands and have no doubt that they are real.

Heres another thread with pics of the other signs and a complete unit. Just imagine the curb sign with the one questioned under it, Makes for a pretty cool set up.

I personally know of one that was dug out of a out of a dump in Coshocton Ohio. Unless they reproduced it 70 years ago or more and trew it in there, theres no way its not real and a good friend of mine is the person that found it. Now i will say that i am no expert so i cant say for sure the one on ebay is real, but what i do know for sure is THEY DID MAKE THIS SIGN. If someone is telling you guys that they never made this sign and all of the double sided porcelain versions of this sign are fake then maybe they are trying to keep the price down.

Robert...I think the sign sold for cheap on the bay...I have talked to some seasoned collectors that say they are fake...and know of other seasoned collectors that say they are as right as rain...I have seen pics of the ground dug sign owned by Dan...The one I had came from a collection of all original pieces...the one I had looked like it had spent some time in the earth (around the edges)...

Sometimes even guys that know a ton about original signs etc are on different pages when it comes to something being right or not...thats why repops (unmarked) stink...period...If they were used (under the curb signs) like we believe they were...a picture would be worth a thousand words....(globes and signs/John) knows signs extremely well and has been around them for much longer than I have...Once again...a picture from back in the day would be nice smile

Wanted: Husky Cans/Signs, Interesting Pump Plates and NC Road Signage
