Unfortunately not really. Wipe it off a little and hang it. Nice old piece though.

Let some sani wax sit on a test area, wet, for a few days. Take a soft tooth bush to it. see what the results are. Try a bit of rubbing with a soft cloth. See what happens. Is there a lot of paint, covered with rust or is it rusty metal? You might be surprised. Sometimes when theres a lot or surface rust, but mostly paint that is covered with rust, It makes a big difference when you salvage whatever original paint is left under the rust. Theres always muriatic acid. It'll eat away the rust pretty fast. Like in a couple minutes. But you run the risk of destroying it if the paint is weak.
Also consider if your sign will look worse cleaned. You might end up with a sign that has barely any paint, no rust and no patina. Sign doesnt have any pop to it now... Your call.
