First of all Dwaine isn't a vegetarian he likes his meat and second he's not a beer drinking driver. As far as the economy it sucks here in central CA. At the local Shell 87 octane is $1.23 a gallon. I drive mostly big blocks and small blocks (Chevys) but I got a Japanese pick-up heap that gets 26 mpg and save the nice Chevys for the weekend. Got to get the wife a samll heap and get her out of the 454 Suburban. Hope we get on with whatever we have to do to end this poor economy and the war. Ted

OlTed goes to that hard headed German in, stuck in Lodi agin, He and another guy in Sac refuse to raise there prices, they say there not paying anymore, the Chevron here is 209, 218, and 226, they did this also when a fire broke out in the refinnery two years ago, I still go to the same ol station where i pay 24 cents.

Speaking of economy, there's a pair of economy overalls on eBay, from wilshire of Califonia.

Here's link, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35684&item=3600023382&rd=1

Probably an extremely rare item, Be fun to buy them and ware them to gas shows, good convsation piece.

Dwaine,

Are you sure? The dude said it came from an independent western company, it's green like it's supposed to be, from economy.

I never could find the book, can you give me a link to one? Do you have any pictures of the high test stuff, the only high test thing I have saw was your porcelin sign.

There's more than one economy, and radio? What's some info on these companies? Where were they at?

Sorry I'm asking so many questions,I would just like to get my facts straight on the company.

Ethan , contact huskybob@huskies.net he knows a place on the net you can go for the info on little giant it should be in you local library also ,theres a little mentioned about most of the independants on the west coast , and how the small companys volanteered so many men aglong with standard and some others to go to sadia arabia in 1947 to drill and set up holding tanks for them, as far as wilshire goes , they had no other stations call economy , and thats what its says on the back of the cover-alls , people just try to make a BUCK off people that don't know . Ted and I stopped another guy today that was selling a repo flying a sign as an original , he said he goy it from some guys at a street fair , they had a lot of signs, I think Frank Sargent talked about them being up in Oregan , maybe there down this way now , just like Tidewater oi service out of I think the Carolinas or some were near , a lot of guys tried to say it was the same as tidewater from J.Paul . and it might have been but it had nothing to do with the tidewater /associated that I new , buy it if it doesn't go to high just for your pease of mind , it can't hurt ,

If anyone is looking for out of print books the best place I have found is..... .... they check alot of different dealers and even Amazon. There was a book on ebay about the history of oil in Wyoming that went for over $45.00... I checked it out in bookfinder and it showed Amazon still had them brand new for $15.95.
Saved me $30.

Hello everyone:

Gas in Metro Detroit is as 'cheap' as $1.68 as of this morning. Prices actually fell after the 48 hour dedline was given. Not much, just a couple of pennies per gallon. But hopefully, it will start at trend.

Sorry guys - but no way I'd live in California and put up with those prices when gas was so cheap elsewhere in the US. I'd be bugging my congressional representative/state legislature and getting something changed.

Later . . .

Jim
