Hey guys i just pulled the trigger on this sign and am haveing a little stage fright. I was Under the gun and had to get it. All the letters light up except the c and i. What a sign like this worth as it sits and then with all neon lit.

Is there any place where the rest of the sign mounted? Letters lighting up is not a big thing, You can test each one by themselves or if the whole thing is hooked up to one transformer then there is a possible break in there.

Clean this up and start looking for the rest, surprisingly enough parts to signs show up.

Neon repair should not run over $70.00 per unit, and I think you at the most would need two. Take everything off the sign, clean with rubbing compound (light), Check each piece by itself with the transformer and find out which piece is bad. If all light up by themselves, then check your wiring inside, may just have a bad connection.

Heya Jonathan,
Neon Porcelain signs are the top of the top for most sign collectors.
Even as dirty as your is, you can still see very good color and there is not a huge ammount of chips and you said all the tubes are still there with the balasts.
IMO You did Great!

??Any idea of the year and what size is it??

Your no longer a Neon virgin but I am and I can't wait to pop that cherry! Hopefully I will do as good as you.
Now go pop a beer at night, and light it up and sit in a chair and stare at it for a while with a smile on your face.

I am glad some one local got that sign ,I looked at it last week and passed but the neon zone in woodstock GA done some repair for me on a large sign and did a great job at a fair price.I took the letters out and carried them by and they remade them. If you take your time they are not that hard to put back into place.Of course they also take whole signs and do all the repair.

I emailed the guy and waited 4days for a reply figured it was gone. He just hadnt checked his email yet. But i was the fourth email of 50 the first 3 guys didnt answer. And the grammy goes to Rust and Dust. I had no choice but to buy it over the phone which i dont like to do i need to see stuff first to be really comfortable. But when am i gonna have another one of these come up for sale 30 minutes from my house. Bringing it home tommarow morn will post pictures of it lit and in its new home.

Cool sign Jon!
You said you were "under the gun" to buy it. You wife really used a gun and forced you?! lol
I found a picture of the complete sign (likely you have already seen similar.)
Good purchase!
