In my opinion a sign like this would never be used inside. First, it's too big, and secondly they went to all the expense of making it porcelain so that it would stand the test of time outside. All of the Buick signs like this I have owned had holes in them towards the top where the Valve in Head sign would mount. Could be left side, right side (either side of a double sided sign like Dave pictured above) or even center (single sided wall mounted sign with Valve in Head in center). Look for holes and I would be very surprised if you don't see 2 on the same horizontal line with one or two centered below it. Good looking sign at a great price.

Once again, congrats on a great buy!
In the above pic, with the neon on, you can see the streaks in the light blue area from weathering.
It was outside.
Someone b4 u must've tried to clean it up some and probably sealed it with some wax so the rust would not come out anymore.

What led me to believe this is just part of a sign is lack of markings on the sign such as Dave has a name at bottom. If it has no holes for mounting ,clips had to be holding it in place as a piece of a big sign

I will yeild that this is a the same sign as in daves picture. When i finnaly got around to messing with it last night which was the first time i saw it in person. My dad had to pick it up for me i was at work. There are to tiny holes and a faint color change where the red circle would have hung down on it. Like in daves picture. So the new question is who has the rest of the sign.

If you could get the rest of the sign for what you have in this one you would have done extremely well on it. What you gave for this one is a great deal with the neon working the way it is. Just keep your eye out, spread the word on what you are looking for & be patient something will turn up smile

You got a good one, sometimes its just pieces that wait for the others to follow. Great sign and you will have fun finding the other parts. I have a bull nose for the end by I believe might be wrong color.
