I always thought this was a $250-$300 can if super nice. I guess I better re-evaluate pricing if this is the new norm in the hobby!  Ebay item 321087990922 I guess I'll just have to be happy with my 5 quart can as I won't be able to afford a quart to go along with it! Darin

I have know idea what happened there. I should have bid on the slightly rougher can that sold for 75$.

I would assume you mean it's a shill bidding situation Jon? I realize with most of these auctions there's something amiss when things get crazy. I just had the can in my watch and was surprised what it ended at!

I had to make a Copy can to go w/ the 5qt & globe w/ 1 cracked lens in original painted body!

John, there were 19 bids over $250 so at least 4 bidders liked the can. As for the shill bidding you can ********* !! *********, I sold over 20 cans last year over $1000 on ebay and in Matther's auctions. So nickle and dimers stay away from my cans

I stated that comment because I wanted the can period not because people spent a lot of money on the can. If people have money they can spend that money on whatever they please. I just wish I had gotten a can period and had I actually bid on the other can I might have one. Sorry that the context of that statement seemed to be taken the wrong way.

And Darin I was surprised the can went that high but what I was really referring to was the fact that I wish I just had one period. I was bidding on the can and bid it up to 300 but that was all I could bid for this week because I had bought some stuff, but it was a really nice can though and I am sure the person who gets it will enjoy it.

I agree Jon, I misread your comment and I apologize to you and Maurice both as I read "know" as to mean you knew something that others didn't, not as in you had NO idea of what happened. Again, I did not mean to slight Maurice's auction or get your bid cancelled. I think this is all a misunderstanding personally and hope it can be worked out.

This is why I dont post on here much maurice was the first guy on here to take me under his wing and help me out. He has sold me cans and globes for less then what they were worth and has bought them for me and has never marked up the price on them. I was watching that can also for the last 2 mins of the auction and when it sold I texted him and asked if he was happy with what it sold for he had no idea what it was at. I trust this man with anything I have and am very proud to call him a friend and some times even call him dad. I for one like seeing the cans bring good money on Ebay atleast I get to see them and have a chance at buying them.
