Collecting is fun.
I went this afternoon to check out an RC cooler a friend of mine had put on craigslist.

While I am standing around talking this chicken decides to start pecking at my toes. I had on sandals. Good thing his buddies didn't get the same idea. I would have been in real trouble!

I bought the cooler but the battery on his forklift had died. He hooked it to the charger and we took a drive to a storage unit he has while it charged. He had a couple of Texaco outboard rack signs NOS , so I bought those. We went back and loaded the cooler.

When I woke this morning I could have never imagined that I would have come up with an RC cooler and two NOS Texaco signs and be ATTACKED BY A CHICKEN ! Sure makes life interesting. What will happen tomorrow ?

Reading this cracked me up and having pictures to go with the story made it priceless.
Reminds me of the last gas pump I purchased.
The pump was on a famers land and we had to walk across a cow field on a rainy day to see it. I was wearing tennis shoes.
I bought the pump but the seller thought my truck might get stuck in the mud so we made a plywood path and used a dolly to move it. We only had two pieces of plywood so we had to keep moving them in front of one another.
While loading the pump the cows and his horse gathered around us maybe to say goodbye to the pump.
I tossed out the shoes the next morning but the price of the pump made it worth it.

I thought I did have my revenge on the species. On the way home I stopped at a convenience store that cooks really good fried chicken and had a five piece. That will teach those chickens to mess with my toes ! I was hungry so I had a pork chop as well, and a slight stomach for several hours from the grease. Those chickens still got me! Just tells you that revenge is not really sweet.

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
