Show starts at 5:30 tomorrow morning and runs threw the end of the week. Brimfield is a mix of several smaller shows opening in different fields at different times during the week. Several area are open all week. It stretches for about a mile through the center of town.
Anything and everything shows up at this show if you can find it.
The first few pictures are of a few dealers headed to Brimfield. I picked up this Jenny key chain at a flea marked down the road.

Thanks for sharing your pics. Just in case you weren't aware your keychain was used for gapping spark plugs.

Lots to like!! We're planning a trip to NE later this year to "pick & poke" through shops, swaps, etc. Hitting Brimfield in early September sounds really good!

Here is one of those fake Michelin Man. At least he had not priced it as if it were real. I have see people pay $900 and up for them thinking they were real.
I also saw a nice $20 Andy Rooney, Sinclair sign with the old plane on it described as a rare pump plate aged and priced at for the bargain price of $2850, in another guys booth.

The repo gas pump was not a bad buy if you wanted a light pump. It sold.

I thought the hot dog was cool.

Tried to catch a Jenny as it flew on out of the field.

The globe was a one piece embossed Odd Fellows.

Tomorrow will be slower, I am getting tired. Walked from 6 am until almost five pm.today.

Mantiques, I was the one that stopped in with the Hotpoint sign. It's a pain when you are set up, you don't get to see much. I like shopping much more.

John the Mobil horses were $11500 for the pair.I thought steep for the condition. I can stop in and get the guys # for you.

Spring and fall. The summer show is a fraction of the size. I think spring is the best.
I really liked the Homelite chain saw sign.He still had it today. It is hard to see everything, things move so quick.
I saw a great Hood Milk sign with a cow head go out of a field today. From the gimps I got and heard what he paid, I told the guy he had stolen the thing. If I had any brains I should have asked him if he wanted to sell it, was not thinking.

This should answer any questions as to weather the Gargoyle sign is real or not, along with Pepsi Pete, and Ski. {not}

Well I was too tired to rush to the J&J show today plus there were a few yard sales along the way. I picked up several hundred old spark plugs at one sale. Allstate, Huskey, AC, Champion, etc. Guy had a bunch of model T parts from his father.
Once I got there I had lost interest. There is not much petro in this field. But here are a few more pictures. I am done the show for this year even thou it goes threw Sunday.

Left Brimfield and stopped at a shop to the north, which had people in it that I had seen all week at the show walking around. A couple from Va. as well.Ended up buying the two cans pictured. Had to watch out for turtles as well on the way to Kimball Farms cruise night. Lots of cool cars ! http://www.kimballfarm.com/cruise.shtml

It was a great show...signs moved very quick this year. If it was auto/gas/oil related and it wasnt WAY overpriced...it was gone. I watched some not so great signs that were overpriced for condition selling within 10 minutes of fields opening up. I think it has a lot to do with the "Better buy it before the guy behind me does" mentality that surrounds this show. BUT the experience is always a thrill non the less.

The reality is that for a show this size the petro is fairly sparse. If you really want to see the petro stuff go to any of the petro shows to see a hundred times as much.

I love Brimfield because I collect in many different fields. I like quirky and unusual, deco, nouveau, emphemera, just old stuff in general. But the best part is the experience and the interesting people.

GREAT show and I enjoyed meeting Henry, more then once, on the fields. There was a lot to see. We just got home to California tonight and I shipped 10 boxes of signs home, 2 already here. At the J&J show the only good, not great, sign was a Richlube with the race car through the middle. It's probably a grade 7 with no gloss and some damage. It sold for $2200. I found a nice Good Humor sign at J&J.
Thanks Henry for your great chats and I have to say I'm still sore from the many many miles of walking. Now I understand what you guys say about walking Hershey

That looks like one of the best shows I have ever seen posted on here. Better then what I have been seeing close to home the past 3 years.
The last time I saw that much great stuff was the Pomona swap meet in California and it took 5 hours of walking to see that much among so many car parts.

I would thank you for posting the pics, but they may have done me more harm than good. Seriously, thanks for the extra work it was to walk, peruse, photograph, then share.

Nice seeing you too Gasme..yea pickings were slim and there were some deep pockets present willing to spend. Ray it was nice meeting you & your wife in J & J Friday. Although I believe you purchased an Ankorite Lion sign from me a few years back. Never knew it was you back then.

Still have the Lion on my fence and my grandkids think I had the sign made from a picture of the "lion that lives in our back yard". the 6 year old is scared to go outback after dark but the 4 year old girl begs me to take her out to meet the actual lion.
I did pretty well and sent home about 15 signs, most are not gas 7 oil. I did score a really nice Hood Ice Cream curb sign which was probably my best buy

There is a picture of a Texaco sign and pole laying over some logs. Do you have any idea what the price was on that sign and pole?

...at Brimfield, probably not a good enough deal to justify shipping it to Wyoming!

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Ray was it the Hood sign on the rack with the legs like this Borden's sign pictured. If it was a buddy of mine sold it on Monday to another dealer in Central Park. That dealer doubled the price and I think I saw it later in the week as well.

You're right on that! There is one that I know of out here that looks very similar to the one in the picture. I was wondering what the value might be.

I don't know the price on that pole and sign. I think it has been at Brimfield for several years. It stays where it is at a shop.

In Va. a sign and pole like that are in the 1 to 2 grand range. I saw a nice one go in NH at an auction for 400 several years ago.
