I have a couple of questions that I have not been able to resolve based upon my research.

1. What is the best way to identify a genuine basic Lion on Mound 13.5" Lion Oil globe? It seems to me that the repop image is a tad bit smaller on the lens than the genuine article. i.e., the nose and tail of the lion on the genuine article seem to extend to the outer edges of the lens, whereas, in the copy there is a discernible gap. Is that a legit observation? Also,he color on the fakes just appears to be "wrong" based upon my looking at pictures.

2. Has anyone reproduced 15" sunburst Pan-Am lenses? The person describing this globe tells me it has 'PREMIUM' across the top of the lens and I can find no examples of such a lens. Does this lens exist?

Thanks
Dave Richey

Dave:

I believe all reproduction Lion lenses are marked. And I don't believe anyone has tooled up to make reproduction Pan-Am lenses yet.

Thanks Jim and two others who replied. Here they are, safe and warm (and it has been WARM in Mississippi today) in my shop.
