NOT SO FAST, FOLKS!! VIC'S '66' IS NOT CLOSING, IT'S JUST MOVING!!!! Oldgaspump.com in Seattle, Washington has purchased Vic's Place, LLC & the Vic's '66' Catalog Business and website!!! We are the owners of Oldgaspump.com AND Emerald City Auto Repair, and have been heavily involved in the restoration of old gas pumps and the retailing of pump restoration supplies & related decor for 19 years. We eventually became one of Vic's '66' largest wholesale customers as we restored our own pumps and retailed merchandise via our online store and at dozens of shows up and down the West coast. When we were made aware of Vic's '66' impending closure, we jumped on the first plane to Oklahoma City and quickly made the decision to purchase the company, not only for our own consumption, but so you, the customer, could still have access to the Vic's '66' catalog offerings. Operations will cease for about 2 weeks as the assets & inventory are transferred from OKC to Seattle, but by the second week in June you can call the same old toll-free number, 888.918.7867, and myself, my wife Lynn and our daughter Cari will be ready to serve you in the same user-friendly way that Vic's '66' was built upon and to show our appreciation of your continued support in the coming years be sure and let us know you are a Oldgaspump.com Member when you call and order any of our products we will be glad to give you a 10% discount on your purchases during the months of June and July 2008. Although we will try and make the transition as seamless as possible, there will surely be some glitches and delays along the way while restocking the inventory that was sold down in the last few months and while adding MANY new products, but rest-assured the whole crew at Oldgaspump.com & Vic's '66' will continue to go out of their way to serve you!! So its not Goodbye to Vic's 66, But HELLO to the new and improved "Vic's Old Gas pump"!!!, And a very special Thanks to Seth and the rest of the crew from Vic's 66 for your continued support during the transition and for making our dream come true. Don, Lynn & Cari

I'm very happy for Don & Lynn....I've known them through phone communication for sometime, but after spending a few days with them last month, I now consider them friends. I wish them tons of luck and I know their hearts are in the right place in this deal. I cannot wait to see where they take the Vic's brand. They are dedicated & loyal folks and I see this as a win-win also. I'm having a great time at my new company and I know Don & Lynn are chomping at the bit to get started with the transition. I'm very much looking forward to spending some time in Seattle helping with the move (and playing some golf while I'm there). So so much of the business we did was to the West Coast so it's only natural some "Left-Coasters" got the company. As I've said in earlier posts, I will still be involved in the original side of the hobby including having auctions and restoring some pumps. I look forward to using Vic's Old Gas Pump as a supplier!
Seth

Glad to see that Vics will go on. I am going to be starting (finally) on my shop very soon, and "decorating" will follow, including resto of my Boyle Dayton 87b.

Congrats Don and Lynn on the expansion, does this mean that you original catalog will be a collectors item, and demand high bucks on Ebay in a few years? Richard

Congratulations on carrying on Vic's well-earned reputation and building upon it. I was made aware of the sale at Michigan Gas over the weekend so the petro community is well-informed. May you enjoy every success.

Don, Would you be interested in sharing some info. about yourself of what you do for a living? How long in the hobby? I am sure some of us would like to know who Don the new owner of Vics is. I know a collector e-mailed me and asked if i knew who bought Vics... other than what you posted.
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

First My Wife Lynn & myself would like to thank EVERYONE for the out pouring of well wishes here on old gas, via emails and phone calls it has all been VERY positive and will make the transition much easier with everyone behind us during the 2 - 3 week closure and 2000 mile move and building of Vics old gas pump. We are still in the process of signing paper work and legal documents but should have the purchase completed within 3 weeks or less. Our goal is to be open for business here in Seattle on or before Monday June 16th 2008. As you all know Seth is moving on to follow his dreams of having a job that will allow him to spend time with his wife & 4 young children [and play golf] so this means Lynn, our Daughter Cari and myself will be working MANY late nights and weekends to get the business and stock on hand back up to where it needs to be so we are able to fill the orders that will be coming in. All though this will take some time to accomplish we will be working diligently to make this happen ASAP! We have already begun assembling a 4000 square foot machine shop and have contacted a pattern maker who has many years experience making parts for old gas pumps, and also met with a tool and die maker and a local foundry to begin making many of the parts Vics had not started making yet or was buying from other vendors so we can keep up with the growing demand for a high quality part at a fair price. A little history about us: I'm a master ASE certified automotive technician with over 33 years of experience in the automotive and aircraft repair and fabrication industry. I have been restoring pumps since 1989 and have restored over 100 pumps in the last 19 years. My Wife and I met 10 years ago and she soon after joined me selling gas pumps along with new and used gas pump parts at local car shows and automotive swap meets in 5 states here on the west coast. She has 2 grown daughters one of whom works for us here at Olgaspump.com and I have 2 grown sons 1 of whom also works for us in our Automotive repair shop in down town Seattle. We are also the founders of Sea Bash a local gasoline and advertising swap meet held here in Seattle. If you have any comments or questions feel free to contact us direct at oldgaspump@comcast.net Thanks again for your current and future support as we look forward to serving you with your petroliana and collectable needs. Don, Lynn & Cari Vics Old gas pump

I have known Don and Lynn for quite a while and I can assure you all that "Vic's" would have been hard pressed to find a better... more qualified... and just all around good folks... as Don and Lynn are... to take over the busines. My congratulations to Don and Lynn and my best wishes to you Seth.
