I'm looking for the retractable locking pin that mounts on the cast iron base and goes thru the pump lever on an early Fry 17 visible pump.

I would ask one of the guys on here to take a photo of theirs and some measurements and just have one turned up. it I remember right...it was a simple affair. Dave

Dave-
I was just sitting here thinking of how to make one. I thought I'd throw it out here, but it' s probably slim to none on finding one. I might do what you suggested on my original post that you commented on last week.

Thanks for the suggestion. Got the pump back from the media blasting, now the fun starts.

Here are some photos of the one on my Fry 5 gallon. The pin is about 1/2" diameter and I would guess 3" to 3 1/2" long The last 1" is slightly flattened to fit through the handle. The pin is about 1" from end and about 2 1/2" long. The part inside the base has a spring around the shaft. I believe a washer and cotter pin follow the spring to hold the whole thing in place. The shaft can be pulled out to lock the handle and retracts when not in use. Just going by memory on the inside as I didn't take it apart.

You could make that out of a bolt with hand tools. Piece of cake. Dave

You are right! Not hard to duplicate.

Thanks Bill for the great photos. Like Dave said, it looks fairly simple and easy to make. The measurements help a lot.

I appreciate you taking the time to help. Great forum and great people!

John
