Could go pretty high!
I've seen close up detailed pictures of this pump and its a very clean and straight pump that would be an easy restoration.
I bet there will be a lot of interest in it!

Over 10K now.

This makes the restored 50A I picked up from an old gasser a few months ago look like a pretty good deal.

If only I had matched more than one number on Saturday's lotto. That is one nice original 50 that everyone is salivating over I'm sure....including me!

The rarer pumps are just going up. Would not be surprised if the Reserve was $15,000-17,500.

I'd bet it Sold, even through it didn't hit reserve. ebay doesn't get their FVF, just a listing Fee.

Dicks probably right! Even though it didn't hit reserve, a deal can still be struck afterward. Hopefully someone on here gets it and we'll get to see it again!

A restored, complete Wayne 50 sold on old gas a few months ago for 14K. (I was the buyer)

Is the E-Bay pump worth more because of the original condition or was that restored one a great deal?

The original vs. restored thing is something I know about only from classic cars.

In my opinion, you got a very good deal. Although many people here like to keep pumps original, I am sure most would restore a pump like the 50 on eBay this week. It was very straight, solid and complete but did not a lot of original "character" to ME. Others may say leave it?, but a top of the collection pump like that deserves a show stopping restoration in my eyes. A restoration like this comes at a high cost on a large complex pump like this! Personally I like the 50 a little better than the 50A - but most are happy to have either one and I don't think their is a huge value difference. All in all, you got a great deal, and Don has a great pump.
