Hello everyone. I've found what I believe is a Bennet 76 pump. It's a basket case, missing top, both doors, nozzle side panel,id tags, window bezels, etc.
It does have frame, computer, side trim pieces though some are bent, good sight glasses.
I really like these pumps, but have not found many repo parts for this model. Side panel and possible doors look fairly simple to make, no repo tops or hose inlet asy, etc.
If anyone has any of these 76 parts for sale would you please send email or reply with prices so I can get an idea of what it's gonna cost me to restore this one or not. I would really like to save this pump but without spending a fortune. This one will be for my personal (beginner collection) 4 pumps LOL! and not to be sold.
Thanks very much!

Philip. I am going to go out on a limb and suggest you save your money and upgrade to a better Bennet 76. Face Bezzels can run from $125 each on up. Sheet metal is cheap. Trim and other parts are available from suppliers. Tops and the visi guages are $$$, and when you add it up, you may be better to pass. I had a Bennet 76 that had a good top, gauge and base and was missing a bezel. Took two years to find the right bezel and had about another $300 in parts. I applaud your efforts to want to save a pump...but. Don't mean to sound like a downer. Good luck with your project. It will be a labor of love.

Get the pump IF it is cheap [$50-$75]& you have room to store it, for awhile. Eventually more parts will be made, or you will find ANOTHER that needs some of it's parts. db

For the last 20 years I have watched people purchase air meter and pumps that are incomplete, thinking that out there somewhere is someone with the exact parts they need to complete their restoration. Well.....sooner or later we have to decide, do I have a restorable unit or do I have a parts unit. Some of us need to step up the plate and decide that this is a parts unit, I'm going to put the parts I have up for sale, and use the money to purchase parts for that almost complete unit I have out in the garage. I am the only one who has ever parted out a ECO Islander (actually I have parted out three of them) and I know that quite a few guys out there have been able to complete their restorations because I choose to part mine out. I'm not trying to sell anything out there, just voicing my opinion about purchasing incomplete units, and sitting on incomplete units looking for parts. Jack Sim

Philip, if you need the bezels around the window I have two of them that I had reproduced. Send me an email if your interested and I'll get some pictures together if you need them. It took me awhile to find one complete bezel and then after a long time waiting to find another I finally had some reproduced. But the others are correct you'll have to decide what is better...restore and sepend some $$ on parts, part out and use the money to help fund another project, or wait until the repro parts are more available. Good Luck!

I am with Jack on this one.. When I first started collecting pumps, I thought why would anybody part out a pump..I got that fever to buy ANY pump at ANY $$price??? Well 50 pumps later I agree we do need to part out some pumps to help out the others that need stuff.. Tom Buckles is a great example he has lots a parts I have bought to finsh projects. Buy the pump if you can and then deceied if it is a Deal or No Deal.. Ric

Thanks everyone for replies!
I think I'll go get the pump and just do like most of you all said just keep until I find the parts or use it as a parts pump.
Thanks again for the advice.
Dick Bennett: What would it take to get one of your 76 tops? Other than a 36b top! I don't have one of those either. LOL
I meet a friend of yours last weekend his name is Mike M. from Cheyenne. He's a neat guy and very knowledgable on pumps. He spoke highly of you also.

If and when you find a top and 2 bezels, your looking at probably around $600. If its a visigage pump add another $200 to $250 for a gage. Been there done that. Took me three years to find the parts but at least mine was a 77 clock face and not just a regular 76. In the end it would have been cheaper just to wait and find a complete pump. Jeff

I like the challenge of finding parts to complete pumps. IF your in a hurry, sure it will cost alot. But if your in that big of a hurry, buy one RESTORED. db
