I am restoring a 1936-1937 Bowser model 557.
Looking in the Gas pump collectors guide by Scott Benjamin and Wayne Henderson for paint codes for Shell yellow prior to 1959 it shows a PPG code of 80104 on page 68. Funny thing is that I have called Napa, PPG and other auto paint suppliers and they cannot find or cross reference this number.
Anybody out there know of another code?

Will look much better to have the color matched to your sign or decal.

If you live in an area where you can find someone to do a good match, then I would go with DB. If not then try a pint of these numbers to see if they are what you want: PPG 71660 Red, PPG 81652 Fleet Yellow, Sikkens Solid 418A1 Tan.
These are the colors I used on my 1940's Shell pectin sign, and they were a very good match.

texaspelican,
THANKS.
The 850 was originalLy a GILMORE & was painted & sold with 1 TETRAETHYL GILMORE lens.
About 1992-3 my friend bought the 1 lens, painted pump, 2-15" bodies & 2 pairs of GILMORE pricers at a swapmeet for [B]$2500[B]. He sold the 1 lens for $1500 then sold me the pump [should have bought the globe--$$$ wise]. But I'm a pump guy & HAPPY TO HAVE IT.

Got the panels all painted. About to assemble this ol' pump. Can someone post the pictures for me when I finish? Can't figure out how to do it.
