We found 6 tire covers from 1931 in the attic of a warehouse today. They look like they were never used. My question is what was there purpose and how could I found out more information about them?

They were often used to cover thespare tires that were mounted on the sides and backs of cars in them days. In more recent times it was not unusal to see a personalized
(sports team, wildgame, etc) on the tire cover on the back of Frod Broncos. Not sure of the value. A Texaco one sold for more than $100 on ebay a while back. But these are fairly local. You might try contacting the names of those organizations to see if there is any interest. Good luck

...NEAT!...if I had to guess, I'd say they were samples from a manufacturer...a cool collection all together in great shape...!

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Rather then selling them, I think you have the start of a great collection. Specilize in them, get as many as you can find.
