Here is a link to an article in the online Toronto Star about a wonderful old Joy Oil Co. Castle Station . It is limbo and could be lost.

Bummer.
I hate to see these old gas stations rot away.
We have a gas station here that was going to be saved by historical means and I thought it was but there have been a lot of financing problems since it was moved off its foundation I think over a year ago now. Not sure whats going to happen to it. It is sitting on the property of a new development a half mile from where it used to be.
Many of my Colorado boys will know it as it was a Johnsons Corner station.Heres a pic of it the day the neon was finished.

I'll try to post a pic tomorrow of what it looks like now. I'd descibe it a architectural roadkill.

I've seen that station in Toronto. I think the picture in the article makes it look like it's in better shape than it really is...
Last time I saw it and paid any attention, 4 or 5 years ago, it was surrounded by trash, and mostly open to the elements.
Whoever takes on the task of restoring it is in for a long haul...

Always looking for Texaco Canada, Supertest, White Rose, McColl Frontenac, and Miller Oil Co. info.
