Hi Everyone thank you for welcomes.

Doug I sent you an email.

I live in petaluma.

I have seen ones on ebay that have same layout but look nothing like mine I could tell they were fake and 2 colors, looked like a kid made it. Mine has 4 black, red, green, and white. Plus the other sign said genuine above u.s goverment, since when did they start doing that. Mine also has reg.us.pat.off right under the texaco star.

Im not convince it is fake but I already gave it to blacktee and I never go back on my word.

I think some peopole on here are questioning if it real or not as well. Would you bet your house on it? Im just saying

Thank You Brattso

I'd bet more than my home & Your Home it's a FANTASY ITEM, along w/ the PHILLIPS, SHELL, SKELLY, etc Mechanic On Duty/MAIL SERVICE Signs.

I too would bet my home against its originality! This is without a doubt a fantasy sign that was created for the man-cave decorator crowd. Why your brother had it is hard to say. He probably knew what it was but enjoyed it anyway! Like you said-the color scheme is very attractive and colorful.
It all boils down to its real value though and this is a newly produced $25 sign.

The font on your sign is 1980's type font ("Douglas DC-3")and doesn't match the font that would have been used in the 1940's. Also probably says reg.us.pat.off right under the texaco star, because it is a licensed reproduction.
