If your from Michigan and you happen to collect Sunoco, how can you not love this.
I would love to give it a good cleaning too. I think it would really pop!!
Just thought I would share.

Damn! The Au Sable! Roscommon! It just can't imagine it getting any better for me on a lease sign.
And the older logo! So at least mid 50's. But I'm thinking a bit earlier, 40's at least with the way the large S & O are so rounded off. Can't say I've seen that much before. It would take some work to be sure about the age.

That is a really nice piece.Congrats on the find.Sunoco to me is so appealing.Since I was a kid that yellow and blue always attracted my attention and still does.My dad's favorite gas that he always insisted in using in his Nash frown automobiles that I hated the looks of.That is the nicest one that I have seen in a long long time.Lucky dog !

It's just an ebay listing for now.

Just buy it Steve. Money is temporary, it comes and goes. You can earn it anytime. Signs are forever...and much more difficult to come by. Or, at least that's what I tell my wife.

Hard not to agree with that logic!!

I've contacted the buyer and got a little history and I've written the Village of Roscommon but what they came back with cant be correct. I'm waiting to hear back again.
Still some work to do.

Steve:
Section 20 of Ausable township is just below the "U" which is not far from the Sun Rd sign I PM'd you.
But it is in another county.

Dave,
It's funny, I was telling my wife about that street sign just this morning after I saw this listing. Thanks for the map! Great info!!

I agree its a very nice sign. Its also interesting to a fellow not from those parts that there were oil rigs in Michigan. Wasn't something I associated with the Maize and Blue.

$627 with 2 hours to go.
It looks back at me, knowing how much it would have been loved here in my little dog world, as it is sucked off to the horizon in a vortex of dead presidents. A horizon where the sun reflects off of streets paved in gold, and the rivers run over beds of saphire. I looked ahead, off to that horizon only to see a large sign, neon of course, and it read, "Big Dog Country".
Maybe some day I thought. Maybe some day.

LMAO!!!
What's ROTF?
Ah, no biggy. They come, they go. I just can't spring that kind of money right now. It's all good. It was a joy just to see it. I'm sure it will go to a good home.

I have a feeling I'll see it again some day. I hope it stays in Mi.
