Thought we would close out the year doing something a little different. So this month anything goes within reason lol. What I had in mind was lets see your favorite few pieces you have in your collection. Your favorite globe, a few cans, pumps, signs anything gas and oil related. Everyone should be able to participate in this months COTM.
So I will start with just a few of mine. First off is a superior globe that I got from my friend and fellow oldgas member Maurice. There is just something about this globe when it's lit up that just makes it pop. I do not no anything about the company I have tried to find out but come up with nothing.

Next are three of my favorite cans I have never seen another blue Mfa like that so to get it was awesome.

Last but not least is my MFA shield sign that I got from Scott Shipers a few years ago.
So instead of saying post them if you got them I know this month we all have got them so let's see them and make dec a great month. It will be hard to top last month.

Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

I've been fortunate to acquire a few items that are 'one known' or 'one of two known'. Here are a couple.

The Franklin Gas lens is one of two known lenses and the Magic Gasoline EGC globe is the only one known.

Later . . .

My favorite sign - given to me by my uncle. It came from an Associated Station he had.

Everyone's ,items are great . I want too cheat as well and post two of my favorite crusty ones . Standard and Sinclair . The red crown I bought in a little town in the boot heel of Missouri a few years back. I was at a rice farmers place working on a old grain truck and had to go to a local parts store in the closest town( Qulin mo.)to get a few parts . While I was driving through a side street I spotted it beside a garage ,stopped and asked and the owner asked what would I give , opened my wallet in front of him ,and all I had was a 50.00 bill , he said that will do, both of us were happy. I asked him where he got it and it was in the loft of a old hand hued log cabin / garage building he pointed out to me , he said he was cleaning it out and discovered it. ... The other sign the Sinclair oils is my other favorite because it was buried for so many years..... You all I am sure remember my post of it this past spring and how it was from a little store and grocery called little vine and my grandmothers siblings went to school close to there . My grandmother has passed on but I talked to her youngest sister and she told me later this summer how the bus would stop at that station in the hot summer days and the bus driver would buy all the kids ice cream . This was is the mid 1940's she said , something I wanted to add...... Good decision on cotm Shawn .

I hijacked my screen name from my father whose HAM radio call sign was Greasyboy in the 60s through the 80s.He got that name from hauling pumps down the highway and splattering grease and fuel oil on the cars behind him. That is why I collect grease tins and this is my favorite.Great stuff everyone!

My favorite item in my whole collection is this Texaco Marine sign and the friendship that I gained along with it! Thank you Petro Pete!
My favorite pump is this Tokheim 36B showcase pump that came from the same person and consumed so much of my time for a year and a half to restore it! The details took a lot of time,
My favorite "other" piece is this old display cabinet that I bought from another Old Gasser.
And of course my Avatar or signature piece is these 3 Wayne 40's done in Cities Service colors! Wayne 40's are my favorite pumps of them all!

Great finds and scores everyone! My favorite few this year (too hard to pick 1) Wood sign along with a decal showing true color. Thanks to DB I stuck it to a piece of magnet material resulting in a big fridge magnet. First decal disintegrated, this one cracked but stuck. I'm taking another to my window tint guy who is better than me with decals. My Gilmore lion holding the tube of oil is too cool (wish it looked like the one in Dan's book). Finally I bought this Vickers at auction on Sat. So I got a couple of cats and a dog

... Yes - I was bidding on that one too. Nice sign!

Hopefully you are not insulted - but I showed the results on this one to my wife as an example of how nuts you guys are (trying to justify that I was at least partially sane).

Ha! Not insulted. I used to do the same thing trying to justify what I spent. Then I quit showing what I bought and solved the problem. Reason I went a little strong on this one is my other dog needed a friend.

Wait a minute here. That Vickers dog sign says "The watchdog of your motor". Freedom Oil Works of Freedom, Pa. had the Bulldog logo with the same saying. Freedom is very old company. Where does Vickers fit in?

Here are my two favorite pumps. I bought the Tok 39 at an auction and all I did to it was wet sand it put an original globe on it and rewire it.
The Bennett 541 just has a paint brush resto to it.

I never had one favorite pump in my collection because I like most of them, until I got the Wayne 50. It is my favorite one now with the Wayne 60Ts and Erie 53 close behind.

Beautiful signs, but I can just see me hanging signs on my walls in the house. I would have to die there.

I had a few I wanted to post but won't. This is one of my favorite pumps that was restored last year. It has original pump plates, ethyl signs and globe. I restored this based off of a picture of a original pump in a pic I have.

I did... Didn't like it. I also liked the Bennett 966 pump over the tokheim do to the fat letters, wide glass body and who know they might have used a Bennett.
I have 2 other pumps that are tokheim that are spoken already for brands and didn't want a third. LOL

Here are my pumps out in the snow last night - I'm not much of a photographer but they looked very Christmassy out there.

I know there is'nt anything earth shatering about this piece. Only to me. My father was a Cleveland fireman. He was also a bricklayer with his own small business. From the time i could walk, he would take me to work with him whenever i wasnt in school. I would chip mortar off bricks and then at the end of the day we would throw them in the dump with a days pay of a dollar or so. Anyways ,one day when I was about ten, he said something like "We had a fire in that building last night, want to go look around?" I said "Sure". The place was totaled, and then I saw this little display, completely covered in black soot. I asked him if I could take it and he reluctantly said OK. I still have it, well over 40 years later. He has long since passed but every time I see it , I think of that day.

Great memory Jim!! And great little piece in awesome condition considering it went through a fire.

Thanks all for the comments on my little Sunoco corner. I can't wait to get it all up properly in the garage. It all started with a $7 oiler at an antique show.

Killer stuff guys!!! Love it all!! Here are mine. Its hard to choose. But here are my favorite globes, cans, but i don't own any wow signs, not worthy of posting. My 2 favorite globes are the Golden Rule, and the Red crown. I like the Golden Rule beacsue it was my first lens. The red crown is a piece of local history. My favorite cans are the pennzoil, wings, and of course, my leonard cans. I may be getting a sign, so I will post if I get it.

Thanks
Noah

Great stuff everyone! Especially your Sunoco collection Steve, and of course the Red Crown/Polarine tin litho that was posted also, best sign ever in my humble opinion. Came across this 1lb. WNAX grease can today, I was pretty happy as I missed out on one the week before after a 3 hour drive to get it, and this one is better than the one I missed out on.
