I only have 7 1/2 years to go until I retire so, I thought I should get positioned for being on a fixed income. I would like to have a place for car guys to get together and cool cars to reside.

With that in mind, I am renting a 30' X 50' man cave. I have installed climate control, theft and fire alarm capabilities and will have a full bath with a tiled shower.

It will, most likely, take until next April to get it completed as I'm doing it as I can afford it. The alarm system will be finished January 2nd and the floor will be coated (professionally) on Jan 12th. I intend to have two blender pumps, an oil caddy, tireflator and lighted sign (all Sunoco) as well as a late 60's Sun Drop vending machine when all is said and done.

I'll update with pictures as items are completed...

Sounds and looks good but you might want to buy it and not rent it if you are spending that much on it.

I think what he was saying was that, he will be renting out the space to others to have get togethers in it. Sort like a banquet hall. To help him generate revenue during his retirement years.

This looks awesome. Good to see plastic under those gorgeous vettes - nothing worse then parking on unsealed concrete.

Looks like a great joint.... keep the pictures coming as you get it finished.

I guess I'm a little puzzled by this idea. Not sure about renting a nice place decorated with collectables to a bunch of car guys and their good time beer drinking buddies....but maybe its just me..Mark, you need to weigh in again with more details.....GB

You could camouflage that pretty easily with a couple of brackets and a larger hanging sign!

Another thought if it is still possible. Remount all of this equipment to a piece of 1/4" or so thick aluminum and then mount that plate to the wall. Then have a cover made that can be placed over the outer perimeter of the plate and screwed into the plates edge. The cover could be louvered top, bottom and/or sides for air flow if heat is an issue. It would be nice if that one unit in the center could be mounted in any other way in order to keep the depth of the cover to a minimum. Also, the cover should provide a nice place to mount a sign of just the right size.

Floor work started today and will finish tomorrow.

First, they sanded the concrete...

Then they filled in the cracks and major imperfections...

Next went the gray base followed by white and black chips...

Tomorrow will be clear coat...

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why is it bad to park on unsealed concrete?

I've been waiting for an update to this garage!! Is the bath going in a corner? You posted the one picture looking right in the middle of the wall. Is that were it is going?

Steve (sellersrodshop),
Post that exact same picture now. Would be cool to see before and after.

Bathroom project is finished except for exterior paint. Ended up with a sink and mirror, urinal, toilet, shower, mop sink closet and regular closet. Used LED lights in the ceiling and the closet LEDs are on motion sensors. Still have to hang towel racks and a few pics.

Pics are a bit distorted due to operator error:-))
