I have a old narrow glass globe body that was a freeie, but it has a piece of glass broken out (on the side)at that the screw hole for the lens. I have the piece that is broken out. What kind of epoxy can I use to repair it(nonyellowing type).Would it show after the repair? I hate to toss it out because have a nice lens that I can put in it.
Thanks Randy

Randy, Try super glue. It should hold the broken piece in OK. I wouldn't trust it to hold the screw in place by itself though. Once you have the broken piece glued and the lens bolted on you should use some clear silicone caulk to hold the lens. Run a thin bead around the edge of the lens. Bob

WOW!! Thats bad... i agree with Bob and that's the only way. The clear silicone caulk sucks but that way you can use the body. If it was me i would just use it to hold a single lens. Good luck!

Run a longer scew with a plastic washer behind it and extra nut for safety. UHMW material is close on color, cheap easy to find. Teflon rod is probably better but more $ and harder to find..good luck,,I would sure try to use the body!
