If you want to do the job correctly (switch from kilopascals to psi)you need to replace the large spring on the spring and nut assembly. It's part # 30346. Then all you need to do is buy the psi wheels which run $10 and $6 each. If I were you I wouldn't take the time to replace the spring. Use what you have and switch the wheels. Let me know if you need any additional help. Ron http://www.gaspump.com for parts or
rscobie@gaspump.com for additional help OR

thanks, thunder II ..

actually there is already a nice conversion chart attached to the face of this unit but we would like to change the metering mechanisum itself to register in pounds ..
............................................

thanks mr scobie ..

you mention about changing a spring and nut plus the wheels .. then you indicate you wouldnt bother with the spring etc... only the wheels .. while this is somewhat contradictory or confusing to us .. i guess the bottom line is... does it work this way ..

ps: a very good price on the wheels too .. considering other said well known vendor
is advertising new plastic wheels for... $30.00 each ..

I think Ron meant that if you just change the wheels, it will look correct, but not read accurately. If you're going to actually USE it, you'd have to replace the spring.

At least, that's the way I read it.

Actually that is for sure! You have to understand that most of us just restore or leave as is. These pumps and all the petroliana for the most part are for enjoyment and not for actual use. Now, if you want to use it and have it read the proper pressure, then a complete conversion including the spring is necessary.
