Any of you who trolls eBait for signage has run into these guys using "style" in their descriptor. When did "style" become the new keyword to avoid in most searches?

Its like that for almost everything on ebait.... Kinda sad actually. I stopped selling and buying a lot of things on there. I just buy the stupid day to day things on there now like laptop and cell phone batteries and dumb things like that that Best Buy is over priced on.

At least when I see that word I immediately know to waste no more time on the item.

I noticed some using; "Style" as a buzz word around the 1st year of American Pickers... It has become more prevalent with all the new Sellers who are "trading" on the ignorance of so many...

Our "Buddy Treasureray used it for years... Now he uses "Modern Retro" as in this auction # 380838548613...

But, Lacie51 still uses "Old Style" as in this auction
# 201036312568

Both are still selling unmarked items...

How about the craze for Shabby Chic. I sent some time in Atlanta Ga. many years ago and on a typical Saturday running around to yard sales I would hear. I'm a designer and Shabby Chic , a dozen times. Another word for junk. Damaged veneered furniture painted white and distressed instead of going to the dump.

I agree especially the word "Vintage." If you look up the word "Vintage" you can see how it is used to mislead people. We used it originally as describing something "old" of that "time period." But it also can mean of "any time" which is technically correct. Like vintage "2014 wine." It is misleading and it annoys the heck out of me when I see something new being sold as "vintage." So many parlor tricks these days...Scott B.
