In true spirit of this years weather, Peotone is looking like a cold one!

Was curious if this effects any of you vendors, in regards to sales, and whether or not you even setup? (those inside won't be affected as much, but loading is still a pain)

Cold weather is not a factor. The outside vendors, expecally the pump guys will still set up. Unique items and stuff that is priced fairly will sell.

The worst show I ever had selling in Peotone was the year it was sunny and 72 degrees, foot traffic wise the show was done by 9 a.m. If the weather is just cold it will bring out more casual buuyers looking for something to do.

Some of the outside vendors will have their stuff set out and a sign to call a cell phone number to contact them inside where it is warmer.

Now the big question, now that the Peotone Bier Stube is closed, where is the best place to eat in the area?

I have a basic question in regard to this show and others alike.

Do sellers typically only accept cash, or do they take paypal / credit cards?

I am speaking of the majority of sellers. Cash only?

I have never attended any gas/oil shows so that's why I ask. I am considering going this weekend but want to know what to expect...

Thanks in advance for your information

The majority still want cash, but a growing minority have card readers and smart phones with Internet and the savvy to offer Paypal. Don't depend on checks and credit cards to work when you are hot to buy.

in my experience over last 2 years...

majority = cash.

but some have credit card scanners that connect to their phones. but those are dependent on signal. some also will accept paypal as long as they can confirm it on their phone (also dependent on signal strength).

So cash is still the best way, imo.

It also depends on who the buyer is. I have seen people take checks from people they know. The buyer for Barrett Jacksons always has a check book, some people will take a check, others will not. I do not sell much but when I do I always prefers cash so I can spend it again right away. Going to shows let's you put a face with a name and let's you network with other collectors. Some have offered to let me take the sign today and mail them a check when I get home. I have also got an item at a show and mailed payments after I got home. It all depends but cash is king at the shows.
