I picked this tin sign up at a shop last week. I was disappointed to see the two holes at the top, but it appears to be original. It's extremely thin and flexible. Measures 19 1/2" x 4 3/8". Is this an original or repop sign? How about value? thanks Alan

I am not expert, but it looks original to me. Even though the one hole on the left is in a bad spot, the holesd lookprofessional and uniform. Just my opinion.

What you might have is a sign that pre-dates the automobile, or at least a early sign, that's a wagon wheel, not an automobile wheel.
Nice sign, be careful cleaning it.

The sign might not be as old as some would think. You will find more MICA buckets around Amish communities than anywhere else.

I dont know this sign so this is just conjecture...I dont think those holes are original to the sign. Many of the old tacker signs were very thin and flimsy. Is it thin or kinda rigid? What does that manufacturers name say? AD_ _ _ something?

I would agree that the holes aren't original, but they look like they've been there for quite a while. The tin is extremely flimsy. I could bend it with my fingernail. The manufacturer name says "ADV 70"

Alan here is a picture of a tin sign I found in our barn years ago. The house was built during the civil war. It is very light tin and 4 1/2" X 19 3/4" with dark blue back ground. I think yours might be original but some one cut the holes in it. Mine has no holes at all. The printing looks to be the same, and the border on mine is twice the size on the right side compared to the left just like yours. Hope this helps. Richard

There is another sign that is the mate to these that is Polarine Oil and Greases, same size, same vintage. Butch Greer found a stack of them years ago, I have one in my office below:
