E-bay wants us to report incorrect stuff but this one is still listed and the seller really is a Prize.... says we should get our facts right cause his sign is as real as they get!

Well thanks to E-bay someone paid $202 for a $19 sign. Sometimes its not even worth reporting this ***** cause if we cant get E-bay to protect their buyers how are we ever going to help educate people??

I bought this after reading it was original and believing it. Did not read this- big mistake!!!!
I have asked for my money back but it looks like this guy will push back. What do I tell him to prove it is not original??

if you've received it send it back too buyer with del. conf,-contact paypal & tell them what you did & if your paypal is paid with a credit card contact them & have charges removed from your acct. done it many times without a problem...

File a claim with ebay that you received a counterfeit item that was advertised as original. If they ask for any documentation (I doubt they will) then offer up the link to this thread.
This is a common decorator item that is sold in the reproduction catalogs for $19. It may take a few weeks to get your funds back, but you can do it if you follow their channels. Ebay sides with the buyers most of the time and will side with you, unless the seller can prove you wrong.

Did you have to deal with Paypal, or did the customer have a change of heart?

The customer readily offered a refund, and very quickly. Really no problem. Said she had it for 16 years. Anyway, I SHOULD HAVE read here first. I bought into "original" with no questions. I just am very thankful of this site!!

She did ask if I was going to believe what I read on a "website".

Actually very happy that someone on here got this can and was able to get their money back from this guy because he was "not a nice person" when I contacted him about it.
my messages:Seller please know you are selling a reproduction Pure Oil sign as being original. Pure Oil never ever made a sign this size and every one of their Pump Plate signs were square with rounded edges. Please change your auction per E-bay rules. Item has been reported to E-bay. Thanks

and I can't even copy/paste his/her final one after I sent him the facts.

Oh and to add another shot, this seller sent me a virus or program attachement that luckily I didn't copy/paste or click on that I had to contact e-bay and hopefully they will actually do something about!!

Seems like maybe she was actually reading Old Gas forums!
