Thanks Rick, I appreciate it I say no because I can see it being abused more than used seriously.

I'm OK with buyers rating me for items I've sold on oldgas.....However I think it would be abused by members. Moderators would be constantly hearing sob stories.

IF it is instituted add a RED STAR that can be chosen for a Bad Deal.
Everyone selling in For Sale should be Required to have Real Name, City & email listed in Profile.

At first I was thinking maybe. Then some of the comments made early on in this prompted me to be a no. The comments reminded me that I want to see more education. More history. More discussion. Not more selling/trading. There is plenty of that already and I fear, as other's have noted, that this site could run the risk of becoming dominated by the "For Sale" section.
I agree wholeheartedly with Dick on the real name.... thing.
So I voted no but I commend you Jim for the forward thinking.

I voted no But totally agree with Dick, If your going to sell anything on here you should be required to put all your contact information in your profile so we don't have to ask and try to track the seller down!

For those who keep up to date, on whats going on in the for sale section...No Star Rating is needed.
You quickly learn, who you feel comfortable to deal with..
On the other hand..those who do not keep up to date, may benefit from a Star Rating.. It might save them the grief of unknowingly dealing with a questionable seller/buyer.
All in all...it does not matter to me..
A star rating isn't going to change the way I do business here.
