East of The Big Apple We're At this point:

87 @ 1.70-1.79
89 @ 1.77-1.89
93 @ 1.85-1.97

Isn't there some kind of new Corn-based additive replacing another similar and at no savings to us...in fact prices are to top $2 gal by quite a margin?

LEE- I THINK IT'S BECAUSE WE LIVE ON LONG ISLAND...EVERYTHING NOT JUST GAS COSTS A BIT MORE. WHEN I HAVE TO GO TO CONN OR NJ I DON'T FILL UP HERE....I WAIT! IT'S ABOUT 25-35 CENTS CHEAPER! SIMPLY AMAZING AND UNFAIR!

BUT.... we buy quarts of oil for hundreds of dollars... and pay maybe a thousand for the pump.... that makes the gas prices cheap by comparison... HA.... just a little twisted logic by the kmann....

Crude oil was $32.81 / bbl at Cushing Ok. yesterday. That is $.78 per gallon before you touch it.(42 gal / bbl.) Don't forget TAXES ! Here in Texas that is about $.42 / bbl. That is $1.20 per gallon. But wait,you have to move it to a refinery, refine it, transport to a bulk terminal, then to a station and let the dealer make a margin. I paid $1.55 for regular today, that is about $.35 for refining and marketing. How does that compare to bottled water ? CRA....

MIKE, NOW I KNOW WHERE THE POT-O-GOLD IS AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW!....WHERE YOU LIVE. I DROVE THRU THE HAMPTONS YESTERDAY AND THEIR GAS PRICES ARE WELL ABOVE THE $2/GAL MARK. SO THERE'S ALMOST A 50 CENT DIFFERENCE DEPENDING WHERE YOU LIVE ON THE ISLAND OF "LONG!"

Chris, Conoco 90 octane E10 unleaded (10 o/o corn based ethanol) is $1.59.9 here in western Nebraska. Prices vary here a lot within one state here too.

Here in the Cleveland area it varies by neighborhood. In Cleveland $1.67 in subburbs $1.65 near Interstate $1.49. It pays to drive around and shop.

In my area (Springfield, Il.) a lot of the stations are putting up electronic price boards.I guess so they can change prices even faster? It's bad enough that prices change every 2 days now

You know, I just don't understand economics, apparently!! I live on the east coast in a major port city, there are petro (gas, diesel, fuel oil, etc.) that rolls in via tanker ships every day and the price of gas in Wilmington is higher than I see in places 250 miles away where it must be hauled in by trucks. Go figure!! gas pump freak

Well the wife is on a visit to "Das Mutterland" so I meant to ask how much gas is there, finally remembered to ask !!

Here it is near as I can figure in US doLLars;

Diesel is about 4.60 per gallon
Gas is about 6.00 per gallon

You dont see a lot of 4x4's or full size pick-ups and Dually's are really, really rare over there9Germany)..the biggest trucks you see are often US military rigs !!
