Do you own this one and are you leaving it this way? I love it.
Too many pumps have been restored already.

Yes I own it, and I will never restore it. To me a pump like this is worth ten times the value of a restored one. How would one duplicate something like this? Most of my pumps are original. I use to restore now I preserve.

Lets see some more patina!

Nice maybe they need to be together LOL.

Here is the only pump I have in my apartment, a Tok 39 tall, and being in its original state I guess it qualifies for this thread. I was going to restore it, but after living with it for a few months now I'm appreciating the original condition. It started out life as a Standard pump I think, red and has the hole pattern for a Red/White Crown pp, then it was yellow, probably for Shell, ultimately ended up on a farm and primed and painted blue. I think my only plans for it at this point are to find a couple Shell decals, stress them a bit and leave it alone.

Thanks again to all who have posted in this thread. I like them all whether it is a Tokheim 39 or some over the top clockface. They are all special pumps left as is and they all have a story behind them.

Even tho I don't have the back skin to this pump.Tells the story to me,times where so tough that dealer probably couldn't afford the red paint when it went from Shell to Mobil and Mobil didn't care as long as they got another dealer.

Indeed a great thread, Rob!

BTW, Paul ... Any idea where this pump came from? NW?

Wow! Killer Erie!

From the pump plate, I am guessing it came from a Mobil station.

Did someone paint "yellow"?

Thanks,

Hen

Great pump also looks like Mobil stole another Shell dealer way back when.

My best original patina pump is the Tokheim 34 on the right.
It appears to be in its original paint and absolutely dent free. Sorry for the cluttered picture but it's pretty tight in my garage.

The first one, the Shell Bennett 371 is original. The Signal, Hancock, Mohawk, Shell Wayne 60 and Shell A-38 are home made patina rustorations.

Here are mine. The Bennett 150 was originally in Illinois Farm Bureau service but the decal is gone. I was lucky enough to find an original matching globe for it.

Guys and Gals- Here's a few lurking about in the back yard. The cylinder for the Tokheim is in the garage and the West coast 40 has an East coast globe and a still in decent shape 1951 inspection sticker. Thanks,Savex

I know this is a pump thread, and I absolutely love 'em like this rather than shiny, but Keithia, that 16.5" Mobil globe is awesome!! And pared with that add glass, that looks awesome!!

Thanks but the above pumps I posted are my brothers-Racecop. He needs the credit for those pumps and he does a great job at getting those great old looks with his pumps.

I wish I could keep them all!
You could hear air swishing up in the cylinder when pumping the handle on this one. Everything was original and intact and it had NORWALK ETHYL, HANCOCK ETHYL, MOBIL ETHYL and CHEVRON SUPREME decals, on top of each other.
I was told it was being kept as is but who knows once they are gone.

By far my favorite and finding a Wayne 60 to restore made it easier to not be tempted to restore this one
