The one thing that I have noticed is that the older collectors just do not respond like they use to. Either we have lost a lot of them or they have just moved on from here. Very sad, and a lot of knowledge is missing on here and for the new collectors.

Just what I have noticed in the last four or five years.

51 and have been collecting since I was a young kid. Still looking, buying and enjoying it. Every time I say this is the last car, sign, globe, jukebox, etc...something else appears!
Thanks for the help I've received from everyone on this site.
Mike

I wish I could learn from some more of the older people, the ones that do post I really appreciate it because I learn a lot from them. I'm 19 and been collecting for 6 years.

We first started losing the older guys from this forum when some of the rare stuff they posted pictures of, got reproduced.

In recent years the focus of this forum has shifted from sharing information, collecting and preserving petroliana to primarily buying and selling petroliana.

Some of the most knowledgeable collectors have sold their collections and left the hobby.
