Hi I have a ECO model 97 and looking for some info on a part.

I have looked on line and can't get a clear pic or part number for it , hope someone can help.

It is a black plastic piece by the looks of it on the threaded shaft. see pic.

Any help is appreciated

Looks like the adjusting nut ring & pin assembly. Item # 24 in the exploded view of the mechanical-rear parts view link posted by Cold Pizza.

The part you have the pencil is part of the shotlengthener.

Without a s/l a ECO (this applies to the 93, 97 & 98 models) produces around 55 psi. With a s/l it will produce almost 110 psi.

Explanation: When ECO 90s were first produced service stations serviced cars and truck, so the ECOs needed to produce air pressures above 100. After trucks quit going to service station and went to truck garages, ECO offered these units without a s/l.

This has nothing to do with black plastic piece. Since I cannot see what it is I can only assume it is a broken piece of a spacer. Spacers are plastic and are usually red, but this one could be black. Spacers were used to lower the maximum PSIs. I have a large bag filled with many different size NOS ones.

(How many of you know the ECO sold a 97 that was capable of producing 300 PSI [if you compressor went that high]?)

You need a service manual.

We have been supplying parts for ECOs since 1989 and we believe we have the larges inventory of parts available (they are not being made anymore, but we do make many of them). We also offer a mechanism rebuild service. http://petrolianacollectibles.com/eco%2090%20parts.htm

This is one of the early meters, I can tell that just from the small picture.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the nut, other than it might be frozen to the screw.

He needs to post some better pictures.

Jack the small picture is of my meter ,that I have apart on the bench. Just to give the original poster an idea of what he's looking for. Even though he has a newer unit, and would most likely be getting a plastic adjst. nut. Just trying to help. He just joined the forum two days ago and hasnt replied yet. Maybe he'll never even log on again. lol

Perhaps the attached page from the Eco manual will be of some help. The whole manual used to be a free download off the Eco website.

After Mintex purchased the ECO company from Bennett around 1980 they produced the parts manual a page of which is shown just above. This was probably the worst manual printed, it was all black and it is difficult to determine small parts. The manuals printed before 1975 show much more details.

This is the one I use on my website: http://petrolianacollectibles.com/mech-rear.htm
