If I am not mistaken the Station was in the Green Bay, WI area; and that is an Independent Oil Men's sign to the left... Here is a different Barkhausen Oil Company Station that was in Green Bay...

Yes, Guys, as Bob indicates......Green Bay, Wisconsin. I have a neat little one-pound grease pail from Barkhausen Oil, indicating the home office was located in Green Bay. John

E-Z Pour...
I've seen these Wadhams globes with shades on several station photos.
Concave painted tin inserts.

That globe appears to have concave lenses, probably painted tin.

So might those appendages on the globe be lights to shine on the lenses? And what do you think the doohickey on the top is? A speaker? It's a weird angle for a light...
Nicole Don't know where doohickey came from--must be channeling my grandpa! : ) : o : )

...I've got a photo of a similar globe...I believe the lenses were indeed concave, and the lights shone down to illuminate them...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I was cleaning these and saw this thread, these have some of the features as the one in the photo. The blue seal is one piece of stamped metal and the printed area is concave. The 2¢ is much like the one in the photo but has the light shades located on the bottom. I wonder if the supplier gave the option of shade locations?

The shades on the 2 cents globe, look like they were used to illuminate the area, rather than the globe. Thanks for posting these pictures, very interesting!

I think the 2¢ globe was primary used for visible pimps.

Thanks for adding the picture of the Wadhams globes Jim. I've never seen a Wadhams globe with lights at the top.
Les, is the Blue Seal illuminated on one side only?
Nicole the "doohickey" looks like a light shade. The light probably shone on the building.
Sorry JimT, It looks like we hijacked your topic.

I'm sorry, if I did something wrong that was not the intent. I just happened on the thread and had something close for reference. The blue seal is lite on both sides as the 2 cents globe. Agin I was only showing close reference.

You didn't do anything wrong Les. Sometimes we stray from the original topic. In this case we got to see some really rare globes.

I think the 2¢ globe was primary used for visible pimps. It must have been in the really low rent district. lol Bob- not at all-thats why I posted it as its something we dont often see and as an added bonus we get to check out some more very cool bodies and lenses. I figure they were probably steel lenses in the first photo-just guessing. Thanks for sharing those Done4.

I owned one about two years ago, sold it at Iowa. Was a independent red ball. Concave painted tin lenses.
