Socony Vacuum Products – sign. Porcelain red letters for Mobil gas stations.

The metal bars were sand blasted years ago to get the 50+ years of paint build up off. It was painted rustoleum white to prevent rusting of the bare metal and the entire sign was recently unwrapped from the protective sand blasting masking it had been in for over 10 years.
Used in the 30’s to early 50’s on the wall under the main Pegasus or SOCONY logo. Or used on the roofs edge covering the pumps.
Each letter is about 5 ¼” tall. And is raised about an 1” from the metal bars that mount to the building or wall.
The “P” and “S” have been touched up, since the S was had the most damage to the red porcelain finish. Shown in pictures. All the other letters are in very good shape, they might have a couple chips on the edges that are hard to photograph.
When laid out in a straight line, it is almost 10.5’ long. ‘Products’ is its own section and ‘Socony’-‘Vacuum’ can separate to their own sections. Each section is roughly 3’ long.
Every letter could easily be removed from 2 metal bars they are mounted to, and mounted to sheets of acrylic for a very beautiful/clean look.
