Seen that must be a factory flaw IMO.
Cool but I would have the red added by a painter.
Just looks odd to me.

I remember seeing years ago a sign like this that the a porcelain horse was added but there were holes for the mounting.

Similar to what Craig mentions, I have seen in old photos a "3D" type pole sign that had the separate Pegasus added to give extra dimension and the sign was neon. I don't see any signs of this sign being readied for neon and it has a hanging strip at the top, so agree that this sign is an oddity, certainly nothing I've ever seen.
What's odd to me is that if you zoom in closely on the last pic in the listing of the wings, you can see where the lines are that would be white on a finished sign, as well mane details. Interesting......
