This Sunoco AIR sign is different from any other I've ever seen. Its got no makers ID, the coloring appears to be different than the usual Sunoco blue and yellow , plus, its applied different than most porcelain signs I've seen. There are also other numerous differences than other known originals I have seen. I asked the seller if it was slightly curved and if they knew anything about the origin of it and I got absolutely no response. Im not saying its new, but I am suspicious and wonder if anybody else has ever seen one like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCARCE-AWESOME-A...=item2802b3cef9I want to say there was a lower opening bid but when I looked at it today, there is a 475.00 BIN price on it. Personally, I'll pass...

Thought it was fishy too. Have always seen the holes offset.

I'm two much a rookie to say much, but I've never seen one like this before.
Here's a pic of the better known one. The font doesn't seem exactly the same. Look at the amount of blue in the R And the general thickeness of the lettering.
Yah, I'm not liking it.

I'm not convinced on the lettering of the one in question as the letters look too crisp. Here is my Canadian curved one with lined up grommets and no markings. Taken straight off the pole it was mounted on.

Junior- does the yellow on yours visibly overlap into the blue on yours? It looks like the yellow is almost just a film on the questionable one.

I would have to think that Juniors possibly answers the question. Making the one in question a Canadian version. If you recall, the Canadian "Blue Sunoco" PPP don't have markings either. Maybe none of the Canadian stuff does. Although, the one in question does still seems to have different font than Juniors'. This one in question also just seems to be very faded. Especially the blue.

Jim, I Hope this makes sense. White was fired on first, then yellow and blue was last. The blue overlaps on top of the yellow border. The back of mine is white.

Yes that make sense. Its odd that the yellow on the ebay one doesnt seem to be frit. Unless that the blue is so thin that the yellow is showing through...
