ive been in the works on this for 1 1/2 years now its finally starting i'm having a Morton building built in my back yard
for my all my stuff as I outgrew my basement and garage, will post pic's as the process go, have temp driveway and some the area dug out very excited.

I second the vote for garage journal. You can spend days reading and gaining ideas/input there (as we do here-lol). It is all divided into categories - flooring, electrical, etc.. Good luck on your project!

will do more work going on this week, I had a budget of $25k just to build the building, with the dirt work and retaining wall i'm at 30k now, still need a floor, insulation, electric, heat and walls.

Stuff really has went up for sure . I could have taken out a giant loan on mine , handed overs the plans and let someone else do it , It took me longer but I I saved about 17k I figured from the bids I got from others just doing it myself . Excited to see the progress on yours as you build. Keep us posted .
I like SINCLAIR and old American made stuff ... No china items.

to be honest it looks small in the pics the building is over 20ft tall I'm used to it now, trying to figure out landscaping
before the floor and garage door is done

No - put up some nice interior walls first, and paint them. You will be much happier if you do it now instead of removing everything off the walls in a year or so to do it then.
It will make EVERYTHING look better.

they told me not to use spray insulation on my building for 2 reasons, one if you need to do a repair, and two the water or condensation has no where to go they said the building would rust or rott

the height was a change I made due to the fact the town made me scale the building down soo i made the ceiling height to 14ft with a 21 ft peak will be putting a l shape 2nd floor balcony in very soon.

Looks nice Mark. I would agree to not use the blown or blow-on type insulation. I had that stuff in a building one time and unless you cover every inch it constantly falls off or gets knocked loose. Not only that but the mice love to go condo in that stuff and it really stinks (literally) when they do that in the ceiling or wall adjacent to an area you use a lot. My new shop has one inch hard foam sheeting between the stringers and the metal with r-30 batt insulation in the walls and ceiling before being sheeted with either metal or osb. It's like a cooler, super easy to keep warm or cool and you have finished walls for anything you want to do. You're going to love your new home when it's all done. My wife calls my shop my house as I live out there more than in the house.....GB

I've had none yet, its very dry inside now that the garage door is on, can smell the fresh kilm dry wood when you walk in, just got conformation today that inside framing and 2nd floor balcony will be started in the middle or end of next week
very excited a few more steps closer.

Mark, if you were asking me about condensation, no, I have never had that problem but I keep it heated and cooled pretty much year round...... GB

Glad you have not had water issues Mark. For almost 1 year after my concrete floor was poured, the inside of my building condensed from the water evaporating from the drying floor.

I like the carriage door look of your garage door. On my doors, I put a pin stripe vertically in the center of the door using 1/4" black 3M automotive pin stripe tape. Cut and press down at each section edge. When you stand back, the door will look even more like swing-out carriage doors.

been awhile since my last post got approved for national grid with a 200amp circuit with a separate meter electrical starting in the next few weeks, meanwhile had crushed stone, grass seed
and solar lights put in.

Looks great in the state of TN. Two meters on one address will result in one being on commercial rate. I wish I would have installed a 400 amp meter base and buried the feed line. Just make sure everyone is on the same page. Loyd, Same here in Mississippi! Was going to build a "out building" here on some adjacent property, Entergy was going to charge commercial rates! So between them and the county not wanting to issue me a permit, I said the heck with them!!!!!

just a update all the electrical is roughed in for a rough inspection, for everyone that asked if i had enough power inside. 50 outlets 22 lights 2 220 outlets
2 fans and 20 light switches, pics to follow when all is done after the rough

we got power 55 outlets, 22 lights, 20 switches, 220 outlet, and 2 usb charging ports all lights inside and out are vintage been porcelain lights i found in my travels and have been rewired. next is gonna be insulation and a hot top drive way

few things I got done over the last few weeks
alarm system, outside lights and sandblasting room in corner and room under stairs framed and wrapped in barn board.
cameras and insulation next.
