Why such recent interest in Red Indian? 15 years ago I never heard a peep about the brand. Canadians seem to like collecting Canadian brands but with Red Indian it sounds like many Americans are also interested. Maybe investment is the reason.

Everyone I know loves Red Indian. The reproduction foreign stuff has not affected the price of the real pieces at all. They continue to climb. Red Indian has been the Canadian leader for as long as I can remember. By far the best graphics, according to the masses.

Red Indian stuff for sure has been HOT for years...here in Canada and USA.. I think the collectors in the USA like it because of the connections to early American Indians as well.. I think Kyle Moore told me that many years ago. It is all about graphics and it has that.. I have turned my interest to the early Canadian Buffalo ( Prairie Cities or City Oil Co.)collectibles,, seems to be harder to find than Red Indian, especially signs..

I also agreed with Dave, reproduction stuff isn't hurting the value of great original stuff , in fact maybe it's making the original stuff even more collectible but you really need to do your home work... ( and I hated school work ), LOL, LOL,,,

Based on what Red Indian cans have sold for recently on eBay the cans alone would bring $10,000 if sold individually would they not.

Good ones going for $330 - $450 CDN. Poker Frank just sold another for $370.

18 months ago same cans in similar condition going for $200.
Good time to cash in your Red Indian Stock!

I have seen that rack in person and the cans in it are very nice. Not your typical eBay quality tins. I believe he's selling off part or maybe all of his collection as I saw much of it listed on eBay this morning.

As far as can prices go, the common condition cans may have been a couple hundred 2 years ago, but high grade collector quality cans say 9.0 condition or better have been much higher than that and for a long time already. I bought a red quart can in 2008 that was well over $500 and today that same can is much higher. It is an all English version and those are quite rare. That rack in the picture has a few if them I believe.

Nice display if someone is looking for a full rack of collector grade tins. Price was 12,750.00 or offers on the eBay listing? Might have to go for a visit and see why he is selling it.

seller posted all of his Red indian items (including above rack) on my facebook 'for sale' group a couple weeks ago... he is selling most of it off to focus on other brands. the cans and rack looked really nice!

If you don't do Facebook your missing out on a lot of stuff..and info. it's all knowledge... to me smile

ps. you only have to be friends with whom ever you want to be. You can be as private as you want. It's much different than what you have heard rumors about..

AND I'm not knocking any venue where there's knowledge either. Their all good.

I don't think the guy selling the Red Indian oil rack is from Toronto, pretty sure he is in Alberta...same guy that has all the Red Indian stuff for sale in Alberta.

Facebook works for some of us. I decided to offer a barn fresh gas pump for sale and within 4 hours someone contacted me. Today they took a ferry from Vancouver island in Canada at a cost of over $150 and picked up the pump. Some serious buyers.

Those pictures match up very well to the collection of Graeme Browne.

Those are in fact Graeme's listings. I was over to visit him last night and he's trying to move it in one lot versus splitting it up. I asked why's he wants to move it and he said look around? He has pumps in the middle of his garage and signs all over the place. I said build a shop and he laughed.

Surprised he still has it to be honest. Someone will step up soon and it'll be gone I suspect.

He told me he wanted $14K for the rack complete,, that would be a good enough reason he won't sell it.. I can't imagine someone will step up and buy the whole collection.. IMO.

I have long said Wes: "Price is what you pay. The value is in the quality you get back."

With dead mint cans selling for $500+ US and that rack having at several or more cans of that grade, I would think it'll sell for the money asked! I have not seen a nicer group of quart cans in a filled rack before, and I have seen a few of those racks in some fantastic collections. The sign is also the nicest one of those I have seen. You simply can't beat quality.

These are the ones I completed a few years back,, great condition on all cans except the gallons were without lids.

I see a least one image is from back in 1995 which is 20 years ago now Wes? Graeme mentioned that you sent a few emails expressing interest in both racks? If you could have got those below market price, what you would be asking for them today considering it's perhaps nicer than the one you had 20 years ago? I think his price of 11K US is spot on myself. IMO

All cans and racks have been sold at asking price and have gone to a new home along with a few signs. I didn't think it would take long.

Been to his place a few times over the past month Wes, and he's now been to mine. His wife is a real sweetheart and likes to feed me Bailey's and coffee when I visit now.

Have you been there yet?

Earl.
