I just recently purchased a Conoco sign. I believe the Conoco emblem is from the 1930's or 1940's. I have two questions that I could use some help with.

1. Does anyone know the correct date on this sign?

2. Does anyone know the meaning of the phrase: "Do not oil while in motion"?

I tried to attached a photo of the sign.
Thanks!

This is a reply to my own message. I tried several times to add the photo but was unable to do so. Any help even without the photo is appreciated.

"Do not oil while in motion" was just for guys safety that were working on the machine. Sign would have come off a pump jack or otherpiece of oil processing equipment that would need servicing daily. 30s logo and colors

Are you saying this would be a sign at a Conoco Station garage and would be in regard to some one workin on a car?

...possibly a pump jack, like one used on an oil well...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
