Hello all. I need a little bit of advice from the experts. After a year of looking, I have come across a nice DSP 5 foot Mobil Gas Pegasus shield - IR-52. It looks really good from a few feet away but when I get up real close some of the letter and image borders are slightly jagged. You have to look real close to see this. Is this typical on these signs, or is this just a poorly executed sign? He has other brands of gas & oil signs and on examination the image and letter borders were very precise & crisp. So why is this one not? Just wondering. Thanks for your help.

Each sign is different. Post a pic and I can give you a better opinion

FYI my 1932 mobilgas 4 footer is really crisp on the lines

There are a lot of great guys & gals on Oldgas with a lot of knowledge, but you really need to post a picture if you want good advice. Good luck!

My pictures don't show the slight jaggedness since you have to be up real close to see it. I'll see if I can get some close ups. I'm sure the sign is real & it presents well. But every other sign I have seen is sharp & crisp. But I am not an expert and haven't seen many large Mobil shields. Did the quality vary between pieces? Was the newer porcelain not done as well? Please post a pic of your 1932 mobilgas 4 footer. Thank you!

That is a beautiful sign! Never seen one with the star like that. Is it rare?
