Can any body tell me what this small box was used for? There is a date of 2-42 on the bottom. The bottom is partly open also. Thanks

Probably didn't matter but looking at the condition it looks like it was inside
Oilzum, 1qt Oil Cans, Gas and Oil smalls, Oldsmobile collectables.

Yes it was new old stock never put up. The paint is almost perfect.
