Here is the 4th load home but still on the trailer waiting for my boys and I to off load it. It's a Ray F. Becker 1940s metal 3 bay service station building made in Portland and was a Richfield station on East Sprague in Spokane Valley where a Pawn 1 building is now. Taken down bolt by bolt and piece by piece about 25 yrs ago. This last load is the heaviest so far and I need a loader or boom and longer more heavy duty of a trailer for the other beams! They are substantially heavier than these beams on this load. Take care and drive/ride safe!

At least you have plenty of room to put it up. Sand blast and powder coast and then do your assembly. This would be great to watch and I am sure you could get some old gas guys over there to help out. Let us see the progress.

Thanx guys! Ya, it's a huge task to take on but no matter how I look at it, I'm saving all kinds of money for a building and how cool would it be to have a 40s service station as my shop on this property!? Plus they really built these with solid, thick galvi. steel and I think it's gonna be a more solid building than the 'dainty' modern metal buildings which is something that I think is needed on this property with the winds that whip through here at times. The pieces are numbered but most of it was written on paint that has peeled off so I'm hoping that I can get a copy of the instructions but who knows. Both my sons are good with legos so I should be ok,,, ha ha. For now, it's all about getting it all home with out breaking my back and then I'll decide what's next.

Thanx Sid! The more I bring home the more I want to see it complete. This is after off loading the 4th load. I need a longer, more heavy duty trailer with some type of loading help but I've got a buddy that I'm gonna have to call in a "favor" with his boom equipped Freightliner and the big trailer!

It appears a few people who worked for Ray Becker started up the canopy division after it was dumped by the new owners. The current sales guy is a former engineer for them. I'd touch base with them in search of info. Looks like a neat project! http://beckergasstationcanopy.com/about

Dave while your getting it all laid out ready for assembly it appears you won't have a weed problem. Quite a bit of work that your cranky back will balk at. You need to have an old fashioned barn raising once you know where everything goes. Good luck. Fred
