Considering you're from Florida, be sure to check out shows closer to you in AL, TN, NC and others listed on our Events page. Look near the top of this page for the "Events" link.

So I'm going to It's a Gas, but I'm on the fence about this show. It would seem that it would be impossible to set up at both shows unless one left early from this show. It's a Gas opens at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, so I see vendors thinking about both shows not setting up at Gateway. I see more spectators than vendors. It also gets back to a show starting midweek, people having limited time off from work and another $300+ for food, hotel, gas, etc. I would like to see Bruce and Donna do well, but I don't see it working with It's a Gas being same weekend. 1st year show versus 24th year show. So who is going to the Gateway show and will you go as a vendor or spectator and will you be going to It's a Gas? Thanks, Pat.

wonder how many vendors have registered?

I will go as a spectator on the first day, mainly because I have another business trip in the area the day before and can come back through to the show. I was a little puzzled as to why they were making this a three day show in the first place given it was overlapping the It's a Gas show but I guess they had their reasons. If it's like most shows that are more than two days, the third day will be pretty iffy at best, especially if any vendors plan to do both shows. .....GB

So I posed the question about who will be going to this show either as a spectator or as a vendor? Either no one is going or no one wants to post their feelings about attending the show. Someone posted on Facebook how Bruce and Donna are making it where one can come here and then go to It's a Gas. With it's a Gas setup starting at 8:00 a.m. Friday and Gateway show ending at noon Friday, I don't see how as a vendor, you could do both unless you pack up and leave Thursday from Gateway. It's unfortunate it has worked out this way on timing, but I don't believe either show promotor intended for this to happen. I certainly would like to see the Gateway show be a success! Pat.

I plan on attending both shows as a buyer. Hope the Gateway show works out to be a success. The overlap on the dates makes it hard on vendors. Friday is traditionally a big day at "It's A Gas!"

John, I agree, but the question remains: are you coming as a vendor or as a spectator (buyer) to this show?

I was also told that the show promotor was adamant about people not leaving early. It will definitely be interesting. I booked a non-vending room last night. There are still plenty of non-vendor rooms available. Pat

That's how b and d promotions run the indy show ,but really would you like to drive to a show with a few vendors left. New shows should not step on established shows days .. but there's only so many days in a week.

its possible they didnt intend to... It's a Gas has always historically been in January, until this year when they adjusted it due to the venue change.

I know it's like peotone and mason Dixon two great shows at basically the same time only half the country apart. Allways support the shows, because without them most are left with ebay,or better yet oldgas.com

I am bummed out about the Peotone Mason Dixon thing. They are both great shows and now I have to choose between them,it's not gonna be an easy decision and ultimately it will be me who suffers. It's going to be this way for the next two spring Peotones too.

Why would you run a show on the same weekend as another show??? That makes no sense.

From what I remember, Bruce and Donna were handing out flyers for the Gateway show last August and maybe earlier, so the Russell's scheduled It's a Gas same weekend. Only they know why. From what I've heard five or six vendor rooms have been added at Gateway show. Most people I've talked to who do have vendor rooms are not staying through Friday. Supposedly vendors who are set up in ballroom are being asked to stay through Friday. Majority of people are going as buyers that I've talked to so they can go to It's a Gas. Pat

Thanks for posting Jim.
How was the spectator turnout, and did they outnumber the vendors?

Hard to say on turnout as buyers were spread between the two inside meeting rooms, outside vendors and a bunch of daytime room vendors. I think it was a good first show, especially since it overlapped dates with another petro show in an adjacent state.

With a better separation of dates with "It's A Gas!" the Gateway show should prosper with this nice location and its knowledgeable promoters.
