I just wanted to point this globe out to any new globe collectors as one you need to look at a little more closely to see it's a repro. While it is marked, it isn't at the 6 o'clock position that we're used to looking at on more modern repros.
This globe was not listed for very long when someone hit the BIN, making me think that the purchaser may have made a rash buy not seeing the September 1982 marking under the foot of Pheidippides. I looked at one of these in a collection years ago and almost pulled the trigger buying it as an original until the last minute when I noticed the date, and I had it in hand! I was too set on looking at the 6 o'clock spot, and had my "blinders" on.
As I said, just wanted to point this out to newer globe collectors.
