Just a question I've been pondering. Does anyone know what the tallest visible pump would be? (Globe excluded)
I had a G&B "tall 10" and I believe it was the tallest visible I have ever had.

I owned a Fry 87 tall 10 gallon at one time and it would be at least as tall as the G&B tall 10. I never measured it or if I did, forgot the measurement.

I would say the Milwaukee 585 visible would be right up there as well, with its bonnet.

Thanks Grant

Ok I measured my fry 87 tall ten, 9'3" to globe holder,
my Milwaukee 585 10gal to globe holder 9'6", I thought it might be taller than that, it sure looks like it. Maybe the 15gal pumps are taller?

Thanks Grant

Interesting, who made 15 gal pumps? I've seen 5gal, 10gal and tall 10.

I think Hayes 304-a, Springfield 205, Ottawa, and Rush, and there is probably more, the good old pump guys would no more.

Thanks Grant

Give me about a week to go through about 300 pieces of original gas pump literature and I will answer your question. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remember a pump that I put in my book that was 10' tall without the globe. Will look for it.

Thanks Jack! I figured you'd be the go to guy on this question. Every time I get one of these visible pumps I've wondered how tall did they get.
Is your book out were I can buy it?
I have a book of pump collecting from the 90's when I first started buying pumps. I figure things have changed quite a bit since then.

This is my Hayes 15 gallon, the bottom of the yellow bean what you can partially see is 10 feet up and from what I can see the globe holder is about 6 inches below it.

Very impressive. Any idea which states I could search for a Hayes pump in?
I seem to almost only have G & B's here in NC.

Midwest. Hayes was manufactured in Wichita. They are all over KS, OK, NE, MO. Hope that helps.

This one came from Oklahoma, Tulsa City. I can't remember who bought who but I think Hayes bought out Clear vision, the odd thing about this pump is it's tagged ClearVison but the pump has Hayes casted into it.
