...VERY happy to get this A-38 ad glass...would love to find its mate - or any other Gulf A-38 ad glass, singles or sets ...this unusual pump was made by Tokheim specifically for use as a prop for the Atlantic Weatherman; Atlantic sponsored the weather report on the evening news in many cities in the Northeast...the weatherman, dressed in an Atlantic attendant's uniform, would give the forecast, then mosey over to the pump for the 'Atlantic Keeps Your Car on the Go' jingle...I got this (and an LP with the jingle) from a former engineer at a Cleveland television station, who thankfully saved it from the junk heap...he planned to make a drink dispenser out of it, but never did...note the ID tag, dated 10/65, reads 'DUMMY'...as only one side would show at a time, they made it with two different brands/paint schemes...it never had 'guts', but the door panel retains the same schematic that would have been on functional pumps...plastic inserts mounted to the dial face replace the computer...I haven't seen a 'dummy' pump before; I'm sure they made them for trade shows as well - anyone know of others, from Atlantic or other brands?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Nothing too much for me as of late, but I was surprised to find this smaller size 8X10 Mobil Regular plate at a local antique mall last week. I don't see these come up for sale too often, so while it wasn't minty, the price was right and it will fill a spot on the wall. The Sanilac is the second I've bought lately, the first being a neatsfoot oil so I'm slowly working on finding cans from this series. Darin

Free-styling around a small town I spotted a gas pump in the front yard and stopped to meet a new friend who decided he could part with a couple cool things! TOO MUCH FUN!!!! It's a good day when you get a 25.5" Minuteman, Dinosaur, Husky and a couple of owls along with so much more... The Idaho Chief license plate topper was from a sale last week.
