very nice original small 8x12 curved Texaco SkyChief porcelain pump plate. signed and dated. very clean, just a small hit under one grommet, and 2-3 vertical stress marks in the middle (providing close-up pics for detail)
took a survey on this, and the majority answered between $400-600.
Asking $550

IMO. I think maybe $275-$325 would be in range, but that's just my opinion. Nice sign though.

Bryce: Is this not a flat plate that has been curved by someone? Just noticed the crazing down through the center and, in the first picture, it looks like it is sort of flat between the grommets. All the curved plates I have seen had a gentle curve to them...
Wanted: Champion Spark plug, Shell, Pennzoil, Kendall, and Woco Pep signs...Dale Stephens

Dale... its an original curved plate... i assure you. the crazing in the center is very minimal and likely the result of being too tightly mounted on a smaller diameter pump or other item where it was displayed by station/collector.
there are no flat spots in the sign, it is a gentle and consistent curve throughout

...I've seen the curved 'North Carolina Regular' plates with the flattish spot in the middle, and I know they were right...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Good for you, Bryce. I really think your sign is worth the $550. It will be interesting to see how your Facebook auction goes. Best, John
