It's with a very heavy heart that I have to share the news of the passing today of Bob Strauss. Bob was a very good friend that was somewhat new to the hobby but in a short time amassed a world class collection. He did it without fanfare or bragging and collected with a joy that was contagious, we spoke regularly and I will miss him terribly. He was in good health and died from a household accident, my heart breaks for his wife and family, God bless you all and please be careful.

I JUST CAN'T EXPRESS HOW GREAT THIS GUY WAS TO KNOW, FRIENDLY, HONEST, AND FUN GUY TO BE WITH. This hobby will truly miss this guy that not many had the chance to meet outside of the west coast here.

I am shocked and saddened by this news. I just spoke with Bob 2 days ago about the Mobil sign he purchased, and as Neil mentioned he was in great health and looking forward to retirement. Very sad news indeed.

Bob Strauss and I have been sign buddies for about 10 years. I've sold him numerous signs during that time and he was always wanting the best.

Bob was fairly new to the hobby but with close friends like David Benko mentoring him Bob quickly navigated the learning curve.

I met him in person last year at the Mecum/Vernon Walker auction in Arkansas. His wife Deanne and Bob are 2 of the kindest, old fashioned friends anyone could ask for.

What a sad unnecessary tragedy. Bob didn't have a mean bone in his body and was always ready to laugh.

The sign hobby lost quite a guy today and I lost a good friend.

How sad. Thoughts and prayers to the family and those of you who knew Bob. Reminds us to count our blessings and make every day matter...
